WALLA WALLA — In addition to daily prayer and lessons in faith, the curriculum at St. Basil Academy follows an educational tradition from the ancient Greeks and Romans, a framework that recognizes the many stages of development a young brain goes through, said Matthew Barnett, headmaster. WALLA WALLA — Even as it was bathed in shiny spring light this morning, a small pole building on South Wilbur Avenue could have appeared to be a utility shop to the casual passerby, what with it being surrounded by a few yards of gravel and little else.
The structure, sheathed in metal siding with a color scheme of red and white, is of simple blueprint and small footprint — looking like a Monopoly game piece on a board of 13 green acres. Read the rest…

The good news is that your prayers have been answered: the permits have been approved by the County to construct the new school building on South Wilbur. Construction will begin very soon, with a hoped-for completion this Spring.
The school building will be funded by donations received to date and by financing that has been secured to finish the project. We are grateful for the nine donors who gave a total of $68,825.00. Expenses to date have come to $48,032.00. These expenses were for electric service to the site, the well, several permits, the driveway and access. The electric service and the well were built to serve future school and Church growth.
St. Basil School will lease the approximately one acre parcel from Friends of St. Silouan for $1/year for 99 years.
The estimated cost of the project is $150,000.
Please continuoe to pray for the success of the building project. Your volunteer help will always be needed and appreciated and will help keep down the costs.
St. Basil, please continue to intercede on behalf of the school, its staff, students, board members, and benefactors. May St. Basil School of Classical Studies be blessed and produce fruit for generations to come.
