Picturing America Grant

We are happy to report that Saint Basil Academy has been awarded a Picturing America grant, a free education resource of the National Endowment for the Humanities, distributed in cooperation with the American Library Association.

The Picturing America award materials include forty 24” by 36” laminated high-quality reproductions of American art masterpieces, along with a Teacher’s Resource Book that could stand alone as a comprehensive volume on American art.

These materials not only introduce students to art, but can be used in a wide range of subjects such as American history, social studies, music, writing and literature.

We have also been granted access to the Picturing America Web site, which contains additional information and resources for awardees. Saint Basil Academy will be receiving these materials this spring.

One recent recipient has commented, “Quite honestly, [my school] never could have afforded such a collection. All the students at my school are awestruck.”
